There we were, sitting in a cold damp tent on the 20th August 2007 at the V Festival in Staffordshire chatting about the usual rubbish after our fair share of beer. The idea of starting a karaoke business came up, at the time it was just a drunken idea, a few months later V Karaoke was born.
We knew people who had tried (and failed miserably) to run a successful karaoke business and we saw their flaws with ease. Karaoke was stuck in the past, old scratched CD’s and the silence between singers was the norm, so we decided that we wanted to bring karaoke up to date, hence our slogan “Reinventing Karaoke Entertainment”.
It took nearly three months to compile our kit, we weren’t exactly on a budget but we didn’t want to make any mistakes that would set us back. With our IT background we knew that a PC based karaoke system was definitely the way forward, we never even contemplated an old CD based system. The “digital” setup would allow us to run shows with ease, to rotate singers in a matter of seconds, but the best part was not having to deal with brittle discs!
Our first show came in February 2008 at The Star Inn in Whaplode which happened to be (conveniently) our local. The night was an outstanding success and we knew that we were on the right path to take Karaoke forward.
In the years that followed the business went from strength to strength and we’ve now established ourselves as one of the biggest Karaoke/Mobile Disco setups in the Lincolnshire area. We haven’t forgot our principles though, and we will strive to invent new ideas and keep our competition on their toes.
